Serological Technique: Physical Agents Producing Allergic Reaction
نویسنده
چکیده
Agents like light, heat, cold and trauma also act like the chemicals and give rise to physical allergy. Undetected physical allergy may be responsible for many obscure ailments. Tests for physical allergy : (1) Cold test.? Dip the subject's hand and part of forearm in water between 9 and 10?C. for 6 minutes. The skin blanches. Remove the limbs from the water. Pallor changes to redness, and a slight oedema and a local rise in temperature (judged by touching the other limb for comparison)

The human immune system is an assemblage of cellular and humoral components working together in a highly complex, coordinated, and elegant fashion to achieve the primary goal of protecting the human host (self) from harmful offenders (nonself). Exposure to danger signals activates the various immune mechanisms to bring about immune responses aimed at neutralizing the dangerous nonself while pre...

متن کاملExtrinsic allergic alveolitis in Scottish maltworkers.
In a survey of respiratory disease in the Scottish malting industry 5.2% of employees were found to have symptoms of extrinsic allergic alveolitis. In most cases the disease was mild and not associated with any serious respiratory disability. It was significantly less common where modern mechanical methods of malting were used. Mycological and serological studies suggested that it was usually c...
متن کاملFOXP3 and TGF-β Gene Polymorphisms in Allergic Rhinitis
Background: Regulatory CD4+T (Treg) cells are effective in maintaining immune tolerance. Objective: To investigate single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of Transforming Growth Factor β-1 (TGF-β1) and Forkhead Box Protein 3 (FOXP3) genes in Iranian patients with allergic rhinitis (AR). Methods: Variations at codons 10 and 25 of TGF-β1 and FOXP3 at positions -3279 A>C and -924 A>G were evaluated...
متن کاملMesenteric IL-10-producing CD5+ regulatory B cells suppress cow’s milk casein-induced allergic responses in mice
Food allergy is a hypersensitive immune reaction to food proteins. We have previously demonstrated the presence of IL-10-producing CD5(+) B cells and suggested their potential role in regulating cow's milk casein allergy in humans and IgE-mediated anaphylaxis in mice. In this study, we determined whether IL-10-producing CD5(+) regulatory B cells control casein-induced food allergic responses in...
